Payroll giving

Helping you to make a difference

A far more effective way of giving

Payroll Giving is a simple, tax-efficient and flexible way to give – your donations are deducted from pay before tax, so that the cost to you is much less than the final donation.

Did you know that every £1.00 you give will only cost you 80p, and if you’re a higher rate tax payer it will only cost you 60p. The Inland Revenue gives us the difference – this means that money that would have gone to the Inland Revenue goes directly to help local causes instead.

This is a far more effective way of giving than simply sticking your money in a collection tin on the street, where you have no idea where it is actually going. Donations raised in this way will not disappear around the country; your giving will stay in Derbyshire.

To show their commitment to the scheme, many companies also offer matched giving, effectively doubling or tripling employees’ gifts, providing further incentives for staff to take part.

Why not find out from your payroll department if your employer is one of the many offering a Payroll Giving Scheme. If they aren’t, why not suggest that they set one up? The scheme is easy to establish – it involves completing a short registration form and agreement – and we’d be happy to help them.
